Cheddar's Backwards Compatible Ruleset

Cheddar's Backwards Compatible Ruleset (working title) is a tabletop roleplaying game built upon the 5th Edition Dungeons & Dragons game system.

The game now contains:

• Revised Druid Class with an improved Wild Shape system.
• Revised Fighter Class with an improved Weapon & Fighting Style system.
• Setup for a better leveling-up experience.
• Setup for stronger melee classes through Proficiency Bonus.

The game will contain:

• Unique Classes
  • Every spellcasting class will cast spells in a different way (warlock: pact magic, sorcerer: spell points, cleric: miracle/chance, wizard: spellcasting).
• A simplification of various aspects of the game.
• 10 levels filled to the brim with content.
• An improved multiclassing system.

Why make another TTRPG system?:

1. Wizards of the Coast (and Hasbro) have made some weird and straight-up unfriendly choices recently, better to support people who are actual decent human beings.
2. One D&D, or however it is gonna be called, is mainly build to make it easy to play for new people, not to be fun for veterans (you went too far, by butchering my sweet summer-child the Warlock, I will never forgive you for that WOTC).

During the creation process this game will be FREE to download below, but you're invited to toss me a few dollars to help me out of course :)

Cheddar's is an On the Shoulders of Dragons project, which means it uses the same vernacular and jargon as fifth edition. It is therefore only a replacement of the player-side of fifth edition, and a Game Master can keep using the same monster/bestiary books that were always compatible with fifth edition.

Some OtSoD projects can be used alongside players that use other systems to build their characters from (like fifth edition, 2024 edition, or Tales of the Valiant). Cheddar's however is not one of those projects, it expects all players to use solely Cheddar's Backwards Compatible Ruleset.
